Works Carried Out

HBL Associates designed segregated bays for glass, plastic and aluminium using Alfa-blocs which were also used inside the portal frame.

A full lighting scheme was installed with floodlights on 8m columns, all cables were buried in 100mm ducts around the site with inspection chambers every 50mts.

The removable Alfa-blocs were drilled into position to create the required size bays although these can be changed at any point. With the majority of materials being external overhead litter netting bays were designed and installed to keep materials held in the bays.

A Shearing weighbridge was installed to the front of the site for easy access for the vehicles coming on and exiting the site.

Conclusion

D L Rhodes was asked for a short lead up time and a 5 week completion due to the fact that Biffa had a start date for the collection of recycled materials. All timescales were kept along with internal works to the offices added to the initial project.

Head Teacher’s Comments:

“DL Rhodes builders took over the completion of our extension and have done a magnificent job for us! We now have a wonderful extended services room, classroom and staffroom. We found Nigel and Paul very easy to work with from beginning to end and the quality of their workmanship has been superb! The timeline presented to us at the start of the project was kept to and any issues along the way have been sorted quickly and efficiently. All the health and safety requirements were spot on and DL Rhodes’ workforce were professional and courteous at all times. I would absolutely recommend DL Rhodes to any school considering building work!”
