“Following a rigorous competitive tender process DL Rhodes & Son were awarded the contract to develop a Transfer Station for Biffa Waste Services at Southampton.  The development included demolition and bonded asbestos removal together with the installation of shutta-bloc push walls, in-ground weighbridge and M&E works.  Throughout the develop DL Rhodes staff have acted in a professional and courteous manner and have done their utmost to be considerate contractors.  DL Rhodes has also accommodated minor changes to the scope without fuss or additional cost, which has been appreciated.  The development was completed to programme and in budget.  We would not hesitate to use DL Rhodes & Son in the future and look forward to forming a good working relationship with them.”

Sarah Brown, Business Development Manager (Biffa Waste Services)

“The works were all carried out as per plan, demolition I thought would have been more time consuming and awkward and went better than I expected and quicker than advised which is always a bonus. Roof replacement, a monumental task in itself never mind attempting it in the middle of winter, again, on time even after the delays for the bad weather, delighted with the end result looking like a new building.  We were absolutely delighted with your approach to Health & Safety, always at the forefront of any construction job undertaken, Well Done!  Overall It has been a pleasure to have your company undertake the rebuild project, I can speak for Neil, Mark, John W and myself whom have all been delighted with your attitude to Health & Safety, attention to detail, planning, organising, housekeeping and real commitment to completing the job on time and as advised on the schedule.  A Big Thanks to you and your staff for completing Biffa’s works to the highest standard and bringing the job in on time.”

John Paisley, Pre Treatment Manager (Biffa Waste Services)

“I have no hesitation in recommending D L Rhodes & Son Ltd. Their professionalism and workmanship is the among the best we have experienced. All the documentation and “red tape” was set up and adhered to with regular meetings to keep us informed. We had a very tight timescale for the building of an extension to house a new main entrance, foyer and office in keeping with our 1923 building, which they managed to keep to by working weekends and long hours to ensure the building was complete in time. The attention to detail outside means that the extension looks as though it has always been a part of the school, whilst inside is up to date and stylish. The workforce have been extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.”

Mrs. F. Parr (Standhill School)

“D L Rhodes builders took over the completion of our extension and have done a magnificent job for us! We now have a wonderful extended services room, classroom and staffroom. We found Nigel and Paul very easy to work with from beginning to end and the quality of their workmanship has been superb! The timeline presented to us at the start of the project was kept to and any issues along the way have been sorted quickly and efficiently. All the health and safety requirements were spot on and D L Rhodes’ workforce were professional and courteous at all times. I would absolutely recommend D L Rhodes to any school considering building work!”

M.L Gretton (Head Teacher at Burton Joyce Primary)

“D L Rhodes & Son Builders were awarded the Hoofers Health Club repair contract through Insurance Company Woodgate and Clarke Limited.  As Rhodes Builders were instructed by the insurers I was somewhat apprehensive as minimal disruption to my Health Club was of essential certainty. Considerable damage had been caused to one of the studios due to a heavy water leak caused by the tanks above the ceiling grid.  The studio had to be completely stripped of lighting, suspended ceiling, ceiling timber grid, windows, mirrors, flooring and woodwork.  All had to be replaced for new and decorated throughout.  Rhodes Builders undertook and executed the contract on time and with the utmost professionalism, as Hoofers is based within The Victoria Centre in Nottingham, Health & Safety, obtaining relevant working permits and approval of Risk Assessments all had to be authorised by the Shopping Centre’s Management.  Their involvement working with The Victoria Centre was of a very high standard and their assurance of working out of hours to get the job complete was exceptional.  Overall it was a pleasure working with Nigel Rhodes and Paul Leivers who covered every possible aspect of the job with outstanding results.  I would look forward to working with them and their team again and would certainly recommend D L Rhodes & Son Builders to anyone with such requirements.”

Mr. J. Kearney (Hoofers Health Club Proprietor)

“Following a recent major fire at the offices of British Drilling and Freezing we enlisted the services of D L Rhodes to project manage and carry the substantial repairs required. This work was carried out in a very professional and component manor; the work was started and completed on schedule with very little interruption to our daily services.  The workforce of D L Rhodes were fully compliant with our high standards of Health and Safety and were always willing to take on board any recommendations our officers would make, when the job was completed all work areas were left perfectly clean and tidy we were perfectly satisfied with the overall package of works.”
